How to set up xDrip?

xDrip is an open-source application designed for collecting glucose data from continuous glucose monitoring devices on Android (version 4.0 and above). Setting up xDrip involves connecting to a database for data upload.

To configure the application, follow these steps:

  • Open xDrip.

  • Go to the menu.

  • Select "Settings".

  • Go to the "Cloud Upload" section.

  • Enable the REST API option by toggling the corresponding switch.

  • Click on "Base URL".

  • Enter the xDrip URL, which can be found in your personal account.

  • Save the settings by clicking OK.

  • Setup is complete. The xDrip application is connected to the database.

How to set up AndroidAPS?

AndroidAPS (also known as AAPS) is an application for patients using insulin therapy, running on Android. It integrates openAPS algorithms, allowing for automated insulin dosing with a connected insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring device.

To configure the application, follow these steps:

  • Open AndroidAPS.

  • Go to the menu.

  • Select "Config Builder" and scroll to the very bottom of the menu.

  • Activate the "NSClient" option by clicking on the empty field on the left (the field on the right will become active automatically).

  • Click on the gear icon next to "Settings".

  • Select "Nightscout URL".

  • Enter the Nightscout URL, which can be found in your personal account under the "Server Settings" tab.

  • Save the settings by clicking OK.

  • Select "API secret for NS".

  • Enter your Nightscout API secret, which can be found in your personal account.

  • Save the settings by selecting OK.

  • Setup is complete. The AndroidAPS application is connected to the database.

What are the limitations during the free period?

During the free period, which lasts 7 days, there are no limitations on Nightscout functionality. You can use all available features without restrictions.

Which Nightscout versions are supported?

All current versions of Nightscout are supported, including Nightscout 15.x.x and Nightscout 14.x.x. The choice of version depends on the client application used. Older versions of applications only support older versions of Nightscout.
